Botany
Department of Botany is established in 1983. Department runs under graduate course for Bachelor of Science and have 18 students for final year. Ours is the nodal department for P.G. Diploma in Green Chemistry and Crop Protection. We have well equipped Botany Laboratories as well as research laboratory affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur.
Number of activities are arranged by the department for the academic and personality development of the students, including Teachers Day, Science Day, Seminars, Workshops, World Environment Day etc. Every year department organizes study tours. For the increasing research aptitude in the student, department organizes Poster Presentation Competition on the occasion of Independence Day, Teachers Day, Birth anniversary of Dr. Karmveer Bhourao Patil, Republic Day and Science day.
Department runs Conservation of local seed varieties and Herbal Cosmetics Short Term Course, Career Oriented Course Biotechnology and Skill based Course Sprinkler and Drip Irrigation: Their use and Repair for enhance the knowledge of Botany. Department also make innovative project of plant for the day in department of botany.
Botany is the care taking department for Botanical garden, Shade nets, Poly house.
Department have full qualified faculties including Prof. Kamble V.V. submitted his Ph. D. thesis to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. These faculties published more than 6 research papers in different International Research Journals. Prof. Shirsath R.B. has successfully completed Certificate Course for Biodiversity Conservationist, organized by MoEFCC Govt. of India.
