Higher education is developing very fast in basic as well as professional areas.
The education of rural and drought prone area students is a matter of concern even today. While prepping the perspective plane thought is given to accommodate drought – hit population in existing programmes as well as new academics programmes. Human resource of the institute is remarkably helping the students in achieving the mission and objectives of our institute. Therefore, staff training to improve teaching learning process is also an area of concern. Research, extension activities, extra-curricular programmes for students need to be revived.

Shikshan Sanstha, Satara founded by Padmabhushan Dr.Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. The Rayat Shikshan Sanstha is one of the biggest and premier educational institutes in India as well as Asian continent with an axiom: ‘Education through self-help is our motto’.
Dahiwadi College Dahiwadi is the first co-educational institution of higher
education in drought prone region that provides modern value based education at affordable cost to students for their all round development. The college which was established in 1965 has taken conscious efforts to fulfill the needs of every stakeholder. The college has dedicated and qualified faculty. Development is a continuous process which has to be reviewed periodically, reprogrammed with future perspectives. Therefore there is always a need to develop, initiate and to match current and future Academic Programmes with the eye on future. The perspective plan is prepared keeping in mind the growth, requirements and employability of the learners.
Objectives of the Institute
• To promote research culture among students and faculty making use of modern ICT tools and techniques such as smart board, PPT, etc.

• To provide a platform for students to enhance their sense of social responsibility, skills and potential to contribute to national development.

• To promote a holistic development of students inculcating values among them for jobs and good citizenship.

• To pay special attention towards empowerment of women and water management.

• To inspire students through personal contact and scholarly qualities, high moral character.

Initiating New Academic Programmes
• There is a need to initiate new academic programmes in sciences faculty, essentially specialization in Chemistry and Commerce. We will try to start these programmes over a planned period.

• There is a need to start new post graduate programmes especially in Chemistry and Hindi.

Add on Courses
• The colleges affiliated to universities have no freedom to make change in the syllabi.

• The college can opt for add on COC in all faculties.

• The college will apply to UGC for additional COC programmes.

• To start self-finance course in communicative establishment.

• To introduce computer courses to enhance computer skills among students.

• To design small skill based modules in different departments.

Student Development Programmes
The institute will strike to implement programmes for student development like-

• Orientation programme in the beginning of the academic year for first year students.

• Finishing course to refine techniques, interview techniques etc.

• Soft skill development programme for final year student to be continued.

• Organize study tours, industrial visits, field visits, nature tours, etc.

• Organize NCC/ NSS camps to inculcate community living.

• Organize sports camps by inviting national coaches in various games.

• Make provision of sports facilities on the campus.

• To organize seminars/ conference/ workshops for staff and students.

• To sustain competitive and career guidance cell.

Besides teaching, excellent infrastructural facilities, the institute creates proper ambience for learners. We will serve to create following infrastructure during this plan.

• To renovate classrooms, laboratories.

• To construct the new laboratories as per requirement.

• To construct sports complex with modern sports facilities, additional sports fields.

• To increase reading hall capacity of the library.

• Computerization of library.

• Continue use of software in office and library.

• To create facility of additional computer laboratory.

• To add computers with highest configuration to departments, office and library.

• To purchase software wherever required.

• To integrate ICT in teaching process.

• To equip laboratories with research instruments for enhancement of research at staff and at student level.
